Koralewski, Salisbury each record double-doubles |

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Kristin Koralewski recorded 19 kills, 14 digs and a .359 hitting percentage Saturday as the Northern Kentucky University volleyball team defeated the University of Missouri-St. Louis, 30-16, 30-23, 30-22, in Regents Hall. Nicole Salisbury added 15 kills, 14 digs and a .481 hitting percentage for NKU, which improved to 13-7 overall, 6-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Maggie Pugh finished with 10 kills and a .421 hitting percentage for the Norse, who are unbeaten (14-0) in the all-time series against Missouri-St. Louis. NKU - which suffered a three-game loss to Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville on Friday - bounced back Saturday by hitting .368 as a team. The Norse hit .457 during the opening game and were never threatened. Koralewski, who was named GLVC co-Player of the Week on Tuesday, now has nine double-doubles in her last 10 matches. With NKU holding a 26-21 lead in the third game, Koralewski tallied a pair of kills to extend the advantage to 28-22. She then recorded a service ace to end the match. Kathryn Freeman led Missouri-St. Louis (5-9 overall, 2-4 GLVC) with 10 kills. Marcela Cunha recorded 49 assists and five digs for NKU, which will hit the road next weekend for GLVC matches at Saint Josephs College (8 p.m. Friday) and the University of Indianapolis (2 p.m. Saturday). |
