KORALEWSKI EARNS GLVC HONOR

NKU outside hitter named GLVC Player of the Week

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University’s Kristin Koralewski has been named Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in volleyball.

Koralewski, a senior outside hitter and a native of Muskego, Wis., led NKU to victories against Saint Joseph’s College and the University of Indianapolis last week by recording 56 kills and 26 digs. She also finished with a .409 hitting percentage in the two wins.

During a four-game victory against Saint Joseph’s, Koralewski led NKU with a career-high 30 kills. She also added 11 digs and a .390 hitting percentage in that match.

The following day, Koralewski picked up 26 kills and 15 digs as NKU handed Indianapolis its first GLVC loss. She finished with a .431 hitting percentage despite facing constant double-teaming by Indianapolis.

Koralewski saved her best for the fourth game, when she slammed down 10 kills and attacked at a .600 clip. She now has 15 double-doubles this season and leads the GLVC in both kills and hitting percentage.

For the week, Koralewski averaged 7.0 kills and 3.25 digs per game. She enters Wednesday’s match against Kentucky Wesleyan College with 1,320 career kills, which ranks seventh in Norse history.

Koralewski needs 64 kills to move past Jenny Fleissner (1,383 kills) into sixth place on the all-time NKU list.
