INDY RALLIES TO STUN NKU

Boling records 33 kills as Indianapolis defeats NKU in five games

INDIANAPOLIS - Whitney Boling recorded 33 kills and a .464 hitting percentage Saturday as the University of Indianapolis volleyball team rallied to defeat Northern Kentucky University, 21-30, 22-30, 30-26, 30-21, 15-10, at the Ruth Lilly Fitness Center.

Shaun McAllister added 21 kills for Indianapolis, which improved to 18-9 overall, 7-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Greyhounds hit .733 in the fifth game to win the match and knock NKU (14-8 overall, 7-2 GLVC) out of first place in the GLVC standings.

Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville took over sole possession of first place in the GLVC with a four-game win over Quincy on Saturday. SIUE is now 18-3 overall, 6-1 in the GLVC.

Kristin Koralewski finished with 23 kills, 10 digs and a .372 hitting percentage for NKU. It marked the 11th time in the past 12 matches that Koralewski has recorded a double-double.

Cammi Welter and Nicole Salisbury added 17 kills each for the Norse, who rolled through the first two games and appeared on their way to an easy victory. Indianapolis, however, rallied and took the next two games to even the match at 2-2.

In the final game, Indianapolis converted 12 of 15 attacks with just one error for a .733 hitting percentage. Boling and McAllister combined for 11 kills in the final game.

NKU leads the all-time series with Indianapolis by a 31-3 margin, but the Greyhounds have won three of the past four meetings with the Norse. A year ago, Indianapolis swept the season series against NKU.

Earlier this season, NKU defeated Indianapolis in three games in Regents Hall.

NKU, which is ranked No. 3 in the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Region poll, will travel to Edinboro, Pa., next weekend and play the University of Northern Colorado at noon on Friday. The Norse will also meet Lees-McRae College at 5 p.m. that same afternoon.
