NKU POSTS WIN AT SAINT JOSEPHS |

Koralewski leads way with 17 kills, 21 digs |

RENSSELAER, Ind. - Kristin Koralewski finished with 17 kills, 21 digs and a .467 hitting percentage Friday night as the Northern Kentucky University volleyball team defeated Saint Josephs College, 24-30, 30-17, 30-17, 30-18. Koralewski also added two service aces and notched her 10th double-double in the past 11 matches for the Norse, who improved to 14-7 overall, 7-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The junior outside hitter tallied eight kills in the third game as NKU coasted to the conference road victory. Cammi Welter collected 15 kills and 13 digs for NKU, and Nicole Salisbury added 14 kills and 13 digs. Welter also keyed NKUs win in the second game with seven kills, when the Norse used an 11-0 run to extend a 15-12 lead to 26-12. Maggie Pugh had 12 kills and a .476 hitting percentage for the Norse, while setter Marcela Cunha added 60 assists, seven digs and four kills. NKU hit .318 for the match, compared to just .052 for Saint Josephs (6-17 overall, 3-5 GLVC). Saint Josephs hit - .040 during the second game and did not recover the remainder of the match. The Pumas finished with 43 kills and a total of 34 attack errors in the match. Lynne Fischesser finished with 12 digs for NKU, and Amber Timmons added 10 digs. Breanne Evans tallied 10 kills to lead Saint Josephs. NKU, which is ranked No. 3 in the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Region poll, will play at the University of Indianapolis at 2 p.m. Saturday in a key GLVC match. |
