Norse senior earns All-America honors for second straight season

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University’s Kristin Koralewski has been named second team NCAA Division II All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Koralewski, a senior outside hitter and a native of Muskego, Wis., recorded 559 kills and 390 digs this season as NKU posted a 22-9 record. Koralewski led the Great Lakes Valley Conference in both kills per game (4.99 kpg) and hitting percentage (.382) en route to earning GLVC Player of the Year honors for the second straight season.

Koralewski finished her career sixth in NKU history in both kills (1,485) and digs (1,192). She was a first team All-America selection last year by the AVCA.

Koralewski is the first volleyball player in Norse history to earn All-America honors twice. Since 1998, six NKU volleyball players have been named All-Americans by the AVCA.

Molly Donovan earned second team All-American accolades in 1998 to become the first NKU volleyball player to receive the honor from the AVCA. Jessica Buroker was named first team All-American in 1999, while teammate Jenny Jeremiah received second team All-America honors for the Norse that season.

NKU’s Cammi Welter received honorable mention All-America accolades in 2003.

Koralewski also was later named second team Daktronics All-American. She is the first NKU player to receive that honor from Daktronics.
