KORALEWSKI REPEATS AS GLVC’S BEST

NKU sweeps GLVC volleyball awards

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University volleyball standout Kristin Koralewski has been voted Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Year for the second straight season, the league announced Friday.

Koralewski, a 5-foot-8 senior outside hitter from Muskego, Wis., leads the GLVC in kills (5.04 kpg) and hitting percentage (.390). Koralewski, an NCAA Division II first team All-American last season, currently ranks sixth in school history with 1,474 career kills.

NKU’s Liz Holmes was named the GLVC Freshman of the Year. Holmes, a graduate of Mercy High School in Cincinnati, has 388 kills this season and also earned second team All-GLVC honors.

The Norse’s Carlos Chia earned GLVC Coach of the Year honors for the second time in his career. Chia guided NKU to 11 consecutive victories to close out the regular season.

NKU sophomore setter Andrea Lanham earned first team All-GLVC honors. Lanham, a graduate of Notre Dame Academy, leads the GLVC in assists at 13.17 apg.

NKU junior right-side hitter Lynne Fischesser was named second team All-GLVC. Fischesser, also a graduate of Notre Dame Academy, has served up a team-leading 54 aces this season and added 305 digs.
