Norse to be No. 5 seed in upcoming GLVC Tournament |

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University womens tennis team will play at the University of Southern Indiana at 4 p.m. Thursday in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match. The Norse, who are 4-3 in the GLVC, will be the No. 5 seed in the upcoming GLVC Championships Oct. 11-12 at St. Louis, Mo. NKU will meet No. 4 seed Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville (6-3 in the GLVC) in the first round of the tournament. Earlier this season, SIUE ended NKUs GLVC win streak at 51 consecutive matches with a 6-3 victory over the Norse in Highland Heights, Ky. The winner of the NKU-SIUE first-round match will likely face No. 1 seed University of Indianapolis in the semifinals. NKU will enter the GLVC Championships as the four-time defending champion. NKU junior Elizabeth Brunsman is unbeaten (7-0) and has been the Norses top player this season. In her last match, Brunsman posted a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Lewis Universitys Liezl Mendoza in No. 1 singles competition. NKU sophomore Lindsay England is also unbeaten in singles competition (7-0) this fall.
