O’HARA EARNS THIRD GLVC HONOR

NKU junior named GLVC Player of the Year for third straight season

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University women’s tennis player Jamie O’Hara has been named Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Year for the third straight season by the league coaches.

O’Hara, a junior who is unbeaten (32-0) in her career against GLVC opponents at No. 1 singles, also earned Player of the Year honors in 1998 and '99.

NKU first-year coach J. Webb Horton was named Coach of the Year as the Norse captured their third straight conference championship at last weekend’s GLVC Championships. NKU junior Lauren Spears, freshman Elizabeth Brunsman and senior Claudia Ruehl also earned All-GLVC honors for the Norse, who have not lost to a GLVC school since 1997.
