Norse defeat Southern Indiana for GLVC crown |

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Northern Kentucky University womens tennis team captured its fourth consecutive Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships title on Saturday with a 5-1 win over the University of Southern Indiana. NKU extended its win streak against GLVC opponents to 51 en route to capturing its fourth straight GLVC title. The Norse became just the second team in GLVC history to capture four consecutive GLVC titles (Southern Indiana also won four straight GLVC championships from 1981-84). NKU has not lost to a GLVC foe since Lewis University posted a 5-4 win against the Norse during the 1997 GLVC Championships. NKU senior Jamie OHara improved to 44-0 all-time against GLVC foes with a 6-1, 7-5 victory over Michelle Lenahan in No. 1 singles. OHara is expected to be named GLVC Player of the Year for the fourth consecutive season. NKU finished the fall portion of its season with a 12-1 record, and the Norse will also compete in the spring. Pairings for the NCAA Division II Tournament will be announced in late April.
