NKU GOES FOR GLVC THREE-PEAT

Norse prepare for GLVC Championships

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University women’s tennis team will attempt to win its third consecutive league title this weekend at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships, which will be hosted by Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville on Friday and Saturday.

NKU enters the GLVC Championships with a 10-1 overall record after dropping a 6-3 decision at Wright State University on Tuesday. The Norse are the No. 1 seed in the GLVC Championships and will face No. 8 seed Saint Joseph’s in the first match at 9 a.m. (EST) Friday.

The semifinals are also scheduled for Friday, and the finals are scheduled for Saturday. NKU has won the past two GLVC titles.

NKU junior No. 1 singles player Jamie O’Hara is 11-0 this season, including 9-0 against GLVC opponents. O’Hara is 31-0 all-time against GLVC opponents.

NKU has won 35 consecutive matches against GLVC opponents, and the Norse have not lost to a conference team since the 1997 season.
