O’HARA EARNS REGIONAL HONOR

NKU tennis player selected for ITA award

SKILLMAN, N.J. - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association has announced its national award winners for NCAA Division II women’s tennis for the 2001-02 season, and Northern Kentucky University’s Jamie O’Hara has been selected as the recipient of the Great Lakes Region’s ITA/Arthur Ashe Award for Leadership and Sportsmanship.

O’Hara earned Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Year honors four times in her career and led NKU to four straight GLVC titles. She finished her career with an unbeaten record (44-0) against GLVC opponents in No. 1 singles competition, and NKU advanced to the NCAA Division II Tournament three times during the past four years.

O’Hara posted a 60-13 overall record in No. 1 singles competition during her four years at NKU.
