NKU CLINCHES NO. 1 SEED IN GLVC |

Norse women sweep UM-St. Louis, Quincy |

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University womens tennis team clinched the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships by winning twice on Saturday. The Norse defeated Quincy University and the University of Missouri-St. Louis by identical 9-0 scores to clinch the regular-season title and the top seed in the GLVC Tournament. NKU is now 9-0 overall, 9-0 in the GLVC. The GLVC Championships will be played Oct. 10-11. Senior Elizabeth Brunsman picked up two victories at No. 1 singles Saturday, and she also teamed with Becky Dister for a pair of victories at No. 1 doubles. Dister also earned a pair of wins at No. 2 singles for the Norse, who are looking for their fifth GLVC Championships crown in the past six years. NKU won four straight GLVC Championships titles from 1998-2001.

Brunsman/Dister (NKU) defeated Schuering/Romani, 8-6. 2. Wright/England (NKU) defeated Rodriguez/Fraser, 8-0. 3. Smith/Kari Goodrich (NKU) defeated Postle/Eades, 8-2.
