NKU TENNIS REMAINS UNBEATEN |

Norse improve to 6-0 with win over Indy |

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University womens tennis team defeated the University of Indianapolis, 6-3, Tuesday afternoon at the NKU tennis courts. Senior Elizabeth Brunsman picked up victories at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles for the Norse, now 6-0 overall, 6-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. NKU is closing in on the GLVC regular-season title and can wrap up the No. 1 seed in the upcoming GLVC Championships this weekend. The Norse will play road matches at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, Quincy University and Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville to close out conference play. NKU can clinch the regular-season title by winning two of those matches.

Simmi Rani (UI) defeated Renae Wright, 6-4, 6-2. 4. Jessica Broadus (UI) defeated Lindsay England, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3. 5. Jessica Smith (NKU) defeated Amy Ahlum, 6-2, 6-1. 6. Jeanette Gartner (UI) defeated Kristina Cunningham, 6-2, 6-1. Doubles 1. Brunsman/Dister (NKU) defeated Wilhoite/Jones, 8-6. 2. Wright/England (NKU) defeated Rani/Broadus, 8-2. 3. Smith/Heather Gilmore (NKU) defeated Ahlum/Gartner, 8-4. |
