NKU ADVANCES TO GLVC CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Northern Kentucky University women’s tennis team posted wins against Saint Joseph’s College (5-0) and the University of Southern Indiana (5-1) Friday at the GLVC Championships, and the Norse will look to repeat as GLVC champions Saturday afternoon in the title match against either Southern Illinois at Edwardsville or IPFW.

NKU is now 12-1 after defeating both SJC and USI on Friday. The Norse’s Jamie O’Hara won her No. 1 singles match against Southern Indiana’s Emily Blinzinger, 6-0, 6-0 and is now 11-0 this season.

The Norse, who were 10-0 against GLVC foes in the regular season, have not lost to a GLVC opponent since 1997.

SIUE and IPFW played the late match Friday, and the winner will meet NKU at 1:30 p.m. Saturday for the GLVC championship.
