NKU’S PIENING EARNS GLVC HONOR

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University women’s soccer player Lauren Piening has been named Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week.

Piening, a sophomore goalie and a graduate of Anderson High School in Cincinnati, recorded three consecutive shutouts last week as NKU won the GLVC Tournament. Piening now owns a 0.49 goals against average, and she has picked up seven consecutive shutouts. For the year, she has 15 shutouts - an NKU single-season record.

NKU will play host to North Dakota State University at noon this Saturday (Nov. 13) in the first round of the NCAA Division II Tournament at the Town & Country Sports Complex in Wilder, Ky. The Norse are 20-2 going into the NCAA Tournament.
