NKU RANKED NO. 4 IN PRESEASON POLL

Norse open up regular season on Aug. 26

 

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University women’s soccer team is ranked No. 4 nationally in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/NCAA Division II preseason poll.

NKU, which posted a 22-3 record last season, returns 10 starters from that team. The Norse advanced to the NCAA Division II Final Four before losing to eventual national champion Franklin Pierce, 2-0.

NKU features first team All-America forward Betsy Moore, who scored a school-record 21 goals last season. Moore was also named Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Year in 1999.

The Norse will open up their 2000 regular season on Aug. 26 with a match against Minnesota State at Rolla, Mo.
