Norse still unbeaten (8-0) after 2-1 win over Indianapolis |

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University womens soccer team is ranked No. 1 nationally in the NCAA Division II poll for the second straight week. NKU, now 8-0 after posting a 2-1 win over previously unbeaten University of Indianapolis last Sunday, is 22-0-2 during its last 24 matches in the regular season. The last team to defeat the Norse in a regular-season match was the University of Missouri-Rolla, which posted a 5-3 win against NKU on Aug. 27, 2000. NKU has fielded a varsity womens soccer program since the 1997 season, and the Norse own three straight Great Lakes Valley Conference championships. Another GLVC member, unbeaten University of Wisconsin-Parkside (10-0), is ranked No. 18 in this weeks poll. NKU will play host to Hillsdale (Mich.) College at 7 p.m. this Friday (Sept. 28) at the Town & Country Sports Complex in Wilder, Ky. The Norse will also play at Saint Josephs College at 1 p.m. Sunday. NSCAA/NCAA Division II poll 1.
