HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University womens soccer team will play host to the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament semifinals and finals this Saturday and Sunday (Nov. 4-5) at the Town & Country Sports Complex in Wilder, Ky. NKU is the No. 1 seed in the GLVC and receives a first-round bye. The Norse will play in the first GLVC semifinal match at noon on Saturday. NKU, now 16-1-2, will meet the winner of the University of Southern Indiana/University of Indianapolis match. Those two teams will play Wednesday in a first-round match. If NKU wins on Saturday, the Norse will move into the GLVC championship match, which will be played at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Town & Country Sports Complex. No. 2 seed Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and No. 3 seed University of Missouri-St. Louis are in the opposite bracket. SIUE will host No. 7 seed University of Wisconsin-Parkside on Wednesday, while UMSL hosts Saint Josephs College. The two winners advance to the semifinals at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. NKU is the two-time defending champion of the GLVC Tournament, and the Norse enter the event ranked No. 6 nationally in the Division II poll.
