Norse womens soccer program adds standout defender |
|
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Lindsey Thieken, a 2003 graduate of Hamilton Badin High School, has signed a national letter of intent to attend Northern Kentucky University and play womens soccer this fall. Thieken, a 5-foot-7 defender, earned first team All-Girls Greater Cincinnati League honors last season and was named Badins top defensive player. She also was named second team Ohio Division II All-State and earned first team All-Southwest Ohio honors. Thieken will join an NKU program that posted a 20-1-2 record last season. The Norse also captured their fifth consecutive Great Lakes Valley Conference championship and were ranked No. 1 nationally in the NCAA Division II poll for nine consecutive weeks. NKU will open the 2003 season Aug. 29 against Saginaw Valley State at the Town & Country Sports Complex in Wilder, Ky. |
