GOLFERS EARN SPRING ALL-GLVC HONORS

Norse golfers named All-GLVC

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Four Northern Kentucky University golfers have earned All-Great Lakes Valley Conference honors for their performances this spring.

NKU men’s golfers Brandon Parsons, Curtis Phelps and David Shearer each received All-GLVC honors. Norse women’s golfer Kelsey Gauthier also earned All-GLVC accolades.

Parsons, a senior from Campbellsville, Ky., led NKU to the NCAA Division II national finals this spring. He finished second at the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Regional with a score of 219 as NKU captured the title.

Phelps, a junior from Owensboro, Ky., helped NKU post a 17th-place finish at the NCAA Division II nationals last week. During the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Regional, Phelps finished 36th individually with a score of 241.

Shearer, a native of Charlevoix, Mich., earned GLVC Freshman of the Year honors for his performance at the GLVC Championships this spring. He posted a sixth-place finish in the individual competition at the GLVC Championships with a two-day total of 153.

Gauthier, a freshman from Claremont, N.H., posted a ninth-place finish at the NCAA Division II East Regional earlier this month with a three-round total of 244. In addition to Gauthier, NKU’s Kim Keyer-Scott and Bianca Hutton earned All-GLVC honors during the fall season.
