Three Norse golfers finish in top 10 |

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - A trio of Northern Kentucky University womens golfers posted top-10 finishes Monday as the Norse captured their first-ever Great Lakes Valley Conference championship with a two-day total of 687. Briana Berryman (third place), Kim Keyer-Scott (fourth place) and Lindsay Newton (sixth place) led the way for NKU at the par-72 Piper Glen Golf Course. Berryman finished with a two-day total of 164, while Keyer-Scott completed the event with a 169. Berryman and Keyer-Scott both earned All-GLVC honors. Newton finished with a 172 for the Norse, and two other NKU golfers - Leslie Fossitt and Nicole Weber - posted 12th-place finishes with scores of 182. NKU - which entered Mondays final round with a 19-stroke advantage - won the championship by 24 strokes over runner-up University of Indianapolis (711). Quincy University took third-place honors with a score of 717. NKUs Daryl Landrum earned GLVC Coach of the Year honors. Southern Illinois University at Edwardsvilles Kacy Gruenkemeyer captured the medal with a two-day total of 162. |
