NKU REMAINS IN 5TH PLACE

Fossitt shoots 82 to lead NKU on Thursday

ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Northern Kentucky University women’s golf team remained in fifth place at the NCAA Division II National Championships Thursday with a two-round total of 669.

Leslie Fossitt shot an 82 Thursday at the par-73 Meadows Golf Club and has a two-day total of 165, which puts her in 22nd place in the individual competition. The Norse’s Kim Keyer-Scott shot 83 on Thursday and is in 23rd place after two rounds with a total of 167.

Defending NCAA Division II national champion Florida Southern College remained in first place after two rounds with a score of 622. The Moccasins are 18 strokes ahead of second-place Barry (Fla.) University, which has a two-day score of 640.

The NCAA Division II National Championships is a 72-hole tournament which will continue through Saturday.
