NKU freshman takes individual honor at GLVC event |

EDINBURGH, Ind. - Northern Kentucky University womens golfer Breanne Hall shot a 6-over-par 78 during the final round of play Tuesday to win the medal at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships at the par-72 Timbergate Golf Course. Hall, a freshman from Kentwood, Mich., entered the day tied for fifth place (one stroke off the lead) in the individual standings after shooting an 83 on Monday. Her final round of 78 on Tuesday enabled her to overtake four golfers who shared the first-day lead of 82 and gave NKU its first-ever individual GLVC champion in womens golf. Hall finished the two-day tournament with a score of 161 to edge both Laura Compton (Southern Indiana) and Lynn Schlepphorst (Quincy) by two strokes. As a team, the Norse posted a fourth-place finish with a score of 701. The University of Indianapolis captured the team championship with a final score of 678.
