Norse women recognized for academic excellence by the WBCA

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University’s women’s basketball team has been recognized by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association on the 2002 Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll. NKU posted a team grade point average of 3.46, which ranked No. 7 nationally among NCAA Division II schools in 2001-02. The WBCA releases its Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll each year for NCAA Divisions I, II and III, as well as NAIA and junior college. In addition to its academic standing in 2001-02, NKU also won the Great Lakes Valley Conference regular-season championship and advanced to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight for the third time in four years.
