SNARDON NAMED GLVC CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Norse sophomore earns GLVC weekly honor

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University’s Sharell Snardon has been named Great Lakes Valley Conference co-Player of the Week in women’s basketball.

Snardon finished with 17 points and scored the winning basket with 1.2 seconds remaining Saturday as the Norse defeated Bellarmine University, 63-62. Snardon scored 12 in the second half - including NKU’s last six points of the game - as the Norse rallied from a 13-point deficit to post the victory.

Snardon’s basket with 45 seconds left gave NKU a 61-60 advantage, and after Bellarmine regained the lead with 6.6 seconds on the clock, she took a pass from Connie Myers and scored the game-winner on a layup with 1.2 seconds remaining.

For the week, Snardon averaged 17.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and shot 50 percent from the field. She is sophomore post player from Louisville, Ky., and a graduate of Male High School.

Snardon shared the weekly honor with Quincy University’s Courtney VonderHaar.
