NKU EXTENDS WINNING STREAK TO 13
Norse defeat Saint Josephs, 100-75
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Sophomore forward Michelle Cottrell scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds Thursday night as the Northern Kentucky University womens basketball team defeated Saint Josephs College, 100-75, in Regents Hall.
Cottrell also scored her 1,000th career point Thursday night as the Norse improved to 21-2 overall, 16-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. NKU extended its winning streak to 13 consecutive games, and the Norse are now 12-1 at home this season. Junior guard Heather Livingstone scored 18 points and dished out seven assists for NKU, and junior forward Julie Cowens added 15 points.
NKU will conclude its 1999-2000 home schedule Saturday night at 5:30 p.m. when Indiana-Purdue University at Fort Wayne visits Regents Hall. The Norse are also hoping to host the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Region Tournament in March.
The No. 1 seed will host the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Region Tournament, and NKU is currently the top-ranked team in the poll.
