COTTRELL NAMED GLVC PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Norse All-American forward earns award for second time

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University’s Michelle Cottrell has been named Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Year by league coaches.

Cottrell, a junior forward and a graduate of Boone County High School, has led NKU to a 25-4 record and a berth in the NCAA Division II Tournament. Cottrell leads NKU in scoring at 17.7 points per game, in rebounding at 8.3 rpg, and in field goal percentage (63.3 percent). Cottrell, who was named GLVC co-Player of the Year in 1999-2000, also has 11 double-doubles this season.

NKU senior guard Heather Livingstone earned second team All-GLVC honors. Livingstone averages 12.3 ppg and leads NKU with 136 assists. She has also made 39 of 94 three-point attempts. NKU senior guard Michele Tuchfarber was named honorable mention All-GLVC. Tuchfarber averages 10.8 ppg and has made 34 of 83 three-point attempts this season.
