NKU’S WALTON EARNS GLVC HONOR

Norse senior earns award after batting .667 with 22 RBI last week

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University first baseman Steve Walton has been named Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of Week in baseball. Walton batted .667 with four home runs and 22 runs batted in to lead the Norse to a 5-1 record, including a road sweep of Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday. Walton homered in four consecutive games, and he drove in eight runs during NKU’s sweep of Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday. Walton also scored five runs during that doubleheader. For the week, Walton was 16 for 24 (.667) with eight extra-base hits.
