The NKU Walk for Women is a great way to show your support for the student-athletes of Northern Kentucky University. Whether you are a leisure stroller, exersise pacer, race walker or runer, you can participate with others, enjoy their comany, keep fit, and help raise needed scholarship dollars.

Step 1: Register Today!

If you are not on a team, contact the NKU Athletics Office at (859) 572-5195. If you are already on a team, be sure your captain has your name, address, phone number and T-shirt size.

Step 2: Raise Pledges

You'll be surprised how quickly and easily you'll get pledges -- post walkers raise $100 or more! Set a fund raising goal for yourself! Obtain sponsors who will make a lump sum donation, or will pledge an amount of money for every minute you walk or run (up to 30 minutes). It is easier for you if you get the donation on your first contact.

Step 3: Check-in

Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. at Regents Hall, located on NKU's Highland Heights campus and the 2008 NKU Walk for Women's Athetlics officially starts at 9:30 a.m. rain or shine. Be sure to bring your pledge form with you.

Step 4: Collect your Pledges

You crossed the finish line and you're a winner! Carry that excitement back to your sponsors. Collect all of your pledges and turn in that money to your captain by May 19.

Step 5: Thank your Donors

Don't forget to thank your donors with our easy to use thank you cards.

Here's an incentive to do your best!

• Individuals
  • Raise $250, win a $20 gift certificate.
  • Raise $500, win a $30 gift certificate.
  • Raise $1,000, win a $40 gift certificate.
• Captains
  • Raise $1,000, win a $50 gift certificate.
  • Raise $2,000, win a $100 gift certificate.

Door Prizes

We will randomly select a winner at the Walk on Saturday to receive a $250 gift certificate from a local shopping establishment. All walkers/runners are eligible.

• Individuals and/or captains eligible to receive multiple prizes will select only one of their prizes
• Also, prizes will be given for the youngest walker/runner, oldest walker/runner, walker/runner with the highest number of sponsors, and the best-dressed team.

Slient Auction

A silent auction will be held. You will have the opportunity to buy items that are sentimental, exciting, interesting, unusual or fascinating. The eighth annual Flower and Plant Sale

Proceeds benefit the Norse Athletics Club, an NKU fund-raising organization.
