NO. 4 NKU TO FACE NO. 15 NORTHERN MICHIGAN
THIS FRIDAY NIGHT IN REGENTS HALL
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University volleyball team, ranked No. 4 nationally in the NCAA Division II poll, will play host to No. 15 Northern Michigan University this Friday night at 7 p.m. in Regents Hall in a match that could decide who will have homecourt advantage in the upcoming NCAA Division II Tournament.
NKU is now 20-1 overall, 10-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, after holding off Southern Indiana, 15-13, 13-15, 15-4, 6-15, 15-7, on Saturday. The Norse own 13 consecutive victories since losing to Grand Valley State on Sept. 10.
NKU was ranked No. 2 in the last Great Lakes Region poll behind No. 1 Northern Michigan. The No. 1 seed will earn the right to host the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Region in late November.
Northern Michigan enters Friday's match with an 18-5 overall record, 10-1 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Northern Michigan owns an 8-2 lead over NKU in the all-time series, and the Wildcats eliminated the Norse from the NCAA Division II Tournament two years ago at Marquette, Mich.
