NKU MOVES RECORD TO 20-1 WITH WIN OVER USI

 

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Senior outside hitter Jenny Jeremiah had 20 kills and 29 digs Saturday as the Northern Kentucky University volleyball team defeated the University of Southern Indiana, 15-13, 13-15, 15-4, 6-15, 15-7, in Regents Hall.

Junior middle hitter Jessica Buroker added 18 kills and a .421 hitting percentage as NKU held off USI and improved to 20-1 overall, 10-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Norse have now won 46 consecutive matches against GLVC opponents in Regents Hall, dating back to Sept. 3, 1995.

Junior setter Bobbi Casey had 55 assists and three service aces for the Norse, and sophomore outside hitter Bethany Gastright added 12 kills.

NKU, ranked No. 4 nationally in the NCAA Division II poll, will play host to No. 15 Northern Michigan at 7 p.m. next Friday night in a crucial regional match in Regents Hall.
