N. MICHIGAN DEFEATS NKU, 3-1

Norse finish 0-3 at GLIAC/GLVC Crossover

ALLENDALE, Mich. - Jennie Little and Beth Laveen both recorded 21 kills Saturday as the Northern Michigan University volleyball team defeated Northern Kentucky University, 30-24, 27-30, 30-27, 30-25, at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference/Great Lakes Valley Conference Crossover Tournament.

Little also finished with a .500 hitting percentage and 15 digs for Northern Michigan, which improved to 5-5. Holly Greenamyre added 13 kills and a .400 hitting percentage for the Wildcats.

Maggie Pugh led NKU (2-5) with 15 kills, a .414 hitting percentage and two service aces. Cammi Welter and Nicole Salisbury both had 16 kills for the Norse, who finished 0-3 at the GLIAC/GLVC Crossover Tournament this weekend.

Welter also recorded 19 digs and a .333 hitting percentage, and Salisbury added 14 digs.

Sara Taylor finished with 58 assists and 13 digs for the Norse, while Kristin Koralewski had eight kills and 24 digs. Kaliana Kalache added 12 kills and a .375 hitting percentage for NKU.

NKU will return to action Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. with a road match at Bellarmine University in Louisville, Ky. The Norse will play their home opener next Friday at 7 p.m. against Lewis University in Regents Hall.
