Norse seek ninth consecutive victory |

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University volleyball team will play host to Lewis University at 7 p.m. Friday night in Regents Hall in a match between the top two teams in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. NKU is 12-4 overall, 5-0 in the GLVC. Lewis owns a 10-5 overall record, and the Flyers are also unbeaten (5-0) in the GLVC. The winner of Fridays showdown will take sole possession of first place in the GLVC Blue Division standings. NKU will also play host to the University of Wisconsin-Parkside (1 p.m.) and Edinboro (Pa.) University (5 p.m.) on Saturday. Bethany Gastright recorded 24 kills Tuesday night as NKU defeated Thomas More College, 30-24, 30-16, 30-20, in Regents Hall. Gastright, who also finished with a .477 hitting percentage, now has 1,403 career kills to rank No. 4 in Norse history. Gastright passed Jenny Fleissner on Tuesday to move into fourth place on the Norses all-time career kills list. Denise Barhorst added 12 kills and a .409 hitting percentage, and Julie Hathorn had nine kills and a .615 hitting percentage as NKU won its eighth consecutive match. The Norse are ranked No. 21 nationally in the NCAA Division II poll.
