FINDLAY, Ohio - Kristin Koralewski recorded 17 kills, 20 digs and a .400 hitting percentage Wednesday night as the Northern Kentucky University volleyball team defeated the University of Findlay, 30-22, 28-30, 30-24, 31-29. Koralewski, a sophomore outside hitter, converted 17 of 35 attack attempts as NKU extended its win streak to eight and improved to 15-7 overall with the non-conference victory. Cammi Welter and Nicole Salisbury each added 13 kills, while Maggie Pugh finished with 12 kills and a .435 hitting percentage. Junior setter Sara Taylor - who ranks No. 2 nationally in assists - picked up 63 assists and 16 digs. Taylor now has 1,094 assists this season and averages 13.85 apg. Kaliana Kalache added 11 kills and three blocks for NKU, which will conclude its regular-season home schedule at 7 p.m. Friday when Quincy University visits Regents Hall. The Norse are 8-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and in sole possession of first place in the league standings by one-half game over Lewis University (7-2 GLVC). NKU is seeking its sixth consecutive GLVC championship. If NKU earns the No. 1 seed in the GLVC Tournament, the Norse will play host to that event Nov. 14-16 in Regents Hall. |
