Welter records 15 kills, 15 digs as Norse improve to 9-7 |

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Cammi Welter recorded a double-double with 15 kills and 15 digs Friday night as the Northern Kentucky University volleyball team defeated Wheeling Jesuit University, 30-15, 30-22, 30-27, in the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference/Great Lakes Valley Conference Crossover Tournament in Regents Hall. Welter also finished with a .545 hitting percentage as NKU improved to 9-7. Wheeling Jesuit - which lost in five games to the University of Indianapolis earlier on Friday - dropped to 23-7. Kaliana Kalache had 10 kills and a .563 hitting percentage for the Norse, while teammate Sara Taylor recorded 54 assists. Kristin Koralewski added 13 kills and a .393 hitting percentage, and Maggie Pugh had 10 kills and a .389 hitting percentage. As a team, NKU hit .368 and held Wheeling Jesuit to a .149 hitting percentage. The Norse will meet West Virginia Wesleyan College at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, and they will finish the tournament at 3 p.m. against Fairmont State College.
