INDY RALLIES TO DEFEAT NKU, 3-2

Norse to be No. 4 seed in GLVC Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS - Shaun McAllister had 20 kills, 10 digs and four blocks Saturday as the University of Indianapolis volleyball team rallied to defeat Northern Kentucky University, 30-25, 20-30, 21-30, 33-31, 18-16.

Katie Gompert added 16 kills and a .417 hitting percentage as the Greyhounds improved to 24-11 overall, 9-6 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Indianapolis - which was 0-30 all-time against NKU entering this year - completed a season sweep of the Norse and dropped NKU to the fourth seed in the upcoming GLVC Tournament.

Nicole Salisbury led NKU (20-9 overall, 11-4 GLVC) with 23 kills and a .417 hitting percentage. Kristin Koralewski added 19 kills, 18 digs and two service aces for the Norse, who will meet fifth-seeded University of Wisconsin-Parkside at 6 p.m. Thursday night in the first round of the GLVC Tournament at Romeoville, Ill.

Lewis University (24-3 overall, 12-3 GLVC), which defeated Quincy University on Saturday to capture the No. 1 seed, is the host for the GLVC Tournament. The University of Southern Indiana (22-7 overall, 11-3 GLVC) is the No. 2 seed, and Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville (21-9 overall, 11-3 GLVC) is the No. 3 seed.

The winner of the GLVC Tournament will receive an automatic berth in the NCAA Division II Tournament. NKU has won five consecutive GLVC championships and advanced to the NCAA Division II Tournament.
