NKU VOLLEYBALL SIGNS SEEGERT

Wisconsin prep standout to play for Norse in 2004

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University volleyball head coach Carlos Chia has signed Wisconsin prep standout Megan Seegert to a national letter of intent to play for the Norse this fall.

Seegert, a 6-foot-1 middle hitter from Hartland, Wis., recorded 241 kills, 30 block solos and a .333 hitting percentage as a senior at Arrowhead (Wis.) High School. Seegert, who led Arrowhead to a 32-10 record last fall, earned All-State honors and was named All-Classic Eight Conference in 2003.

Seegert is the second prep recruit from Wisconsin to sign with NKU this spring, and she becomes the third player from that state on the Norse’s 2004 roster. Elizabeth Droessler, a 5-9 outside hitter from Cuba City, Wis., also signed with NKU earlier this spring.

In addition, NKU first team All-American outside hitter Kristin Koralewski is from Muskego, Wis.

The Norse posted a 26-12 record last season and earned a berth in the NCAA Division II Tournament. NKU advanced to the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Region championship match and lost to Grand Valley State University in the finals.
