NKU SIGNS SETTER FROM BRAZIL

Talented setter Cunha signs with Norse

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Marcela Cunha, a native of Curitiba, Brazil, has signed a national letter of intent to attend Northern Kentucky University and play volleyball this fall. Cunha, a 5-foot-9 setter and a graduate of Colegio Dom Bosco High School, was named the Curitiba International Tournament’s most outstanding setter last season. Cunha is the second player from Brazil’s Colegio Dom Bosco to sign with NKU for next season, joining middle hitter Kaliana Kalache. Cunha will join an NKU volleyball program that posted a 28-5 record and won its fifth straight Great Lakes Valley Conference championship last season. The Norse also advanced to the NCAA Division II Tournament for the fifth consecutive year.
