Mercy HS standout Holmes to play volleyball at NKU

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Elizabeth Holmes, a standout middle hitter at Mother of Mercy High School in Cincinnati, has signed a national letter of intent to attend Northern Kentucky University and play volleyball next year. Holmes, a 5-foot-10 senior, earned first team All-Girls’ Greater Cincinnati League honors the past two years. As a sophomore, she was named honorable mention All-GGCL. In addition, Holmes was named to the Ohio Division I All-State team as a junior and senior. She also earned first team All-Southwest Ohio honors the past two years. Holmes holds the Mercy record for most kills in a match (19) and most kills in a game (9). During her sophomore and junior seasons, Holmes led the Bobcats to district championships.
