NKU duo earns AVCA All-Great Lakes Region honors |
|
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University volleyball players Sara Taylor and Cammi Welter have been named All-Great Lakes Region by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. Taylor, a 5-foot-8 junior setter from Louisville, Ky., is currently No. 1 nationally in the NCAA Division II rankings with an average of 13.82 assists per game. Taylor also collected 36 service aces and 258 digs this season as NKU posted a 22-10 record. Welter, a 5-11 junior right-side hitter, finished the season with 395 kills and a .323 hitting percentage. Welter, a graduate of McAuley High School in Cincinnati, also had a team-leading 71 block assists this year. NKU sophomore outside hitter Kristin Koralewski earned honorable mention All-Region accolades. Koralewski, a native of Muskego, Wis., finished the season with 346 kills and 315 digs. |
