TENNIS TEAMS RECEIVE NCAA BIDS |

NKU men & women travel to Midland, Mich. |

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University mens and womens tennis teams both received berths in the NCAA Division II Tournament on Wednesday, and the Norse will participate in the Great Lakes Regional May 3-4 at Midland, Mich. The NKU men enter the NCAA Tournament with a 13-11 record, and the Norse are making their first-ever trip to the postseason event. NKU, which is seeded No. 4 in the subregional, finished third in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament. Northwood owns a 17-5 record and is the No. 1 seed. The NKU women are the No. 3 seed in the Great Lakes subregional and will meet second-seeded West Liberty (W. Va.) State in the first round. The Norse, who are 16-8 entering the postseason, are the four-time champions of the GLVC. West Liberty is 13-0 entering the NCAA Tournament. NKU also advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 1999 and 2000. Last season, the Norse posted a 16-3 record but did not receive a berth in the NCAA Tournament. |
