BREITHOLLE NEARS NKU RECORD

Norse freshman can break record Tuesday against Georgetown (Ky.)

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University freshman pitcher Emily Breitholle can set a school record for victories in a season Tuesday afternoon when the Norse play host to Georgetown (Ky.) College at 4 p.m at the Frank Ignatius Grein Softball Field.

Breitholle, who tied the NKU single-season record for victories with a 6-3 win against the University of Missouri-St. Louis on Sunday, is now 15-3. She currently shares the Norse single-season record of 15 wins with Lisa Cornett (1996) and Amy Serraino (1989).

A graduate of Fairfield (Ohio) High School, Breitholle has a 1.71 earned run average and leads NKU with 64 strikeouts. NKU is currently 29-7 overall, 12-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

The Norse are ranked No. 16 nationally in the Division II poll, and NKU needs just one victory to reach the 30-win mark for the first time since 1989.
