NKU SWEEPS DOUBLEHEADER FROM UNION

Davidson hits three-run double to win second game

 

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Freshman second baseman Amanda Davidson’s three-run double in the bottom of the seventh inning on Tuesday gave the Northern Kentucky University softball team a 7-6 victory over Union (Ky.) College and completed a doubleheader sweep for the Norse.

In the first game, junior third baseman Kerry McKee hit her sixth home run of the season to lead NKU to a 9-1 victory. McKee’s six home runs are an NKU single-season record.

NKU improved to 21-18 overall, and the Norse will participate in the GLVC/GLIAC Challenge this weekend at Alton, Ill.
