NKU SPLITS WITH S. INDIANA

Norse now 10-10 after doubleheader split

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Kim Bina pitched a three-hitter Saturday afternoon as the Northern Kentucky University softball team defeated the University of Southern Indiana, 3-1, in the first game of a doubleheader.

Southern Indiana won the second game, 2-0, as Danielle Garnett hurled a three-hit shutout against the Norse.

In the first game, Camie Deaver had a two-run single in the third inning to highlight NKU’s win over Southern Indiana. Bina picked up the complete-game win and had six strikeouts.

NKU is now 10-10 overall, 1-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Norse will play a doubleheader at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville at 1 p.m. Sunday.
