ELDRIDGES HR LEADS NKU TO SWEEP |

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Krista Eldridge hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning Wednesday to give the Northern Kentucky University softball team a 5-4 win over Kentucky Wesleyan College and a sweep of the doubleheader. NKU won the opener, 11-6, as Eldridge and Kerry McKee both had three RBI. Jessica Dougherty added four hits for the Norse, and Crystal Wilson scored three runs. In the second game, Kentucky Wesleyan took a 4-3 lead into the bottom of the sixth, but Eldridges home run gave NKU the victory and evened the Norses record at 13-13. Eldridge finished the game with five RBI, two doubles and a home run. NKU will play host to the University of Missouri-St. Louis at 1 p.m. Saturday in a Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheader. |
