HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University’s Stephanie Sandfoss has been named Great Lakes Valley Conference co-Player of the Week in women’s soccer.
Sandfoss, a senior forward and a graduate of Highlands High School, scored two goals and had an assist last week as the unbeaten Norse (8-0) posted a pair of GLVC wins. Sandfoss collected a goal during a 3-1 win over the University of Southern Indiana on Friday, and she came back Sunday with a goal and an assist in the first half to key NKU’s 3-0 victory over the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
Sandfoss shared the GLVC honor with Quincy University’s Erin Ollech.
NKU - ranked No. 1 nationally in the Division II poll - is now 31-0-2 in its last 33 matches against GLVC teams. The Norse have not lost to a GLVC opponent since Oct. 9, 1999, when Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville posted a 3-1 win over NKU.
