HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University’s Stephanie Sandfoss has been named Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in women’s soccer.
Sandfoss, a senior forward and a graduate of Highlands High School, scored two game-winning goals last week as No. 1 NKU remained unbeaten (13-0-1). Sandfoss scored a goal with 55 seconds remaining in the second overtime Friday to give the Norse a 1-0 victory at Hillsdale (Mich.) College.
On Sunday, she scored a goal 15 minutes into the match as NKU posted a 2-0 win over Saint Joseph’s College. It marks the second time this season that Sandfoss - who leads the GLVC with nine goals - has been named GLVC Player of the Week.
