Campbell Countys Reinhardt signs with Norse |
|
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University mens basketball head coach Ken Shields announced Thursday that Campbell County High School standout Kevin Reinhardt has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball with the Norse. Reinhardt, a 6-foot-4 small forward, averaged 23 points and 10 rebounds per game as a senior. He finished as Campbell Countys all-time career scoring leader with more than 1,800 career points, and he poured in 680 points as a senior. During his junior season, Reinhardt led Campbell County to the 10th Region championship and a trip to the Kentucky Sweet 16. He played both guard and forward during his career at Campbell County, and he finished with more than 500 career rebounds. We are very pleased that Kevin has signed with us, and we see him playing the small forward during his career at NKU, Shields said. He is a very good scorer, and he adds a lot of versatility because of his ability to shoot the ball from the perimeter or score going to the basket. A three-time All-Region player at Campbell County, Reinhardt was chosen to play in the Kentucky-Ohio All-Star game last week. He will join an NKU team that posted a 19-8 record and finished second in the Great Lakes Valley Conference regular-season standings in 2001-02. |
