NKU’S O’HARA NAMED GLVC PLAYER OF THE YEAR

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University sophomore tennis player Jamie O’Hara has been named Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Year, the GLVC announced Monday.

O’Hara, who finished 12-0 this fall, also captured the award last season. The native of Paducah, Ky., was 11-0 against GLVC foes this fall and is now 22-0 all-time against conference opponents.

NKU’s Dave Bezold earned his second consecutive GLVC Coach of the Year honor. Bezold has now led the Norse to back-to-back GLVC championships, the first time in NKU history the women’s tennis program has won consecutive conference titles.

In addition to O’Hara, NKU also placed junior Claudia Ruehl and sophomores Lauren Spears and Amity Chapman on the All-GLVC Team. NKU posted a 13-1 record this fall and will compete in the spring for a berth in the NCAA Division II Tournament.
