NORSE DROP 3-1 DECISION AT SIUE

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Justin McMillian, Ryan Stoddart and Brad Kroenig all scored first-half goals Saturday night as Southern Illinois at Edwardsville defeated Northern Kentucky University, 3-1.

NKU (6-5-1 overall, 3-4-1 GLVC) took a 1-0 lead on a goal by freshman Jeff Anderson just 13 minutes into the match. SIUE, however, responded with a goal two minutes later when McMillian scored off an assist from Justin Huenke to tie the match at 1-1.

Stoddart gave SIUE the lead with a goal at the 25:58 mark, and Kroenig finished the first-half scoring with a goal at the 37:52 mark. The Cougars improved to 6-5-1 overall, 5-1-1 in the GLVC.

NKU will play at Bellarmine this Wednesday at 4 p.m., and then return home next Saturday at 4 p.m. with a match against Charleston (W. Va.) at the Town & Country Sports Complex.
